The social media platform Instagram is constantly introducing new features to maintain the privacy of its users. This platform, owned by Meta, is currently testing a special feature that will allow users to remove themselves from a 'close friends' list. Once this feature is released, full control of privacy will remain in the user's hands.

In 2018, Instagram introduced the 'Close Friends' list, where users can share their stories, reels, or posts with only selected people. However, currently, if someone has added you to their list, you cannot remove yourself. This will change with the new feature. Users will have a direct option to leave the list, which means they will not be able to see the other person's private stories or reels. To rejoin the list, the other person will have to add you again.

Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi has provided information about this feature. He said that Instagram is working on several new subscription-based tools. These include the ability to create unlimited audience lists, an option to check who hasn't followed back, and the ability to view others' stories without them knowing. These features will also come to Instagram like Snapchat.

This feature, currently in the testing phase, will soon be available to all users. These changes will provide users with a more secure and controlled experience, especially to avoid privacy issues.
