Shocking news has emerged for viewers binge-watching on Netflix. The world-famous OTT platform Netflix is set to make a major change to its content library before 2026, with many popular Hollywood movies, web series, and TV shows being permanently removed from the platform.
Even though new content is released every week, the process of bidding farewell to old popular titles is ongoing, but this time, the inclusion of cult classics and superhit franchises has increased viewers' disappointment. The final streaming date for these titles has been set for January 1, after which they will no longer be available on Netflix.
Media reports say this decision is being made because the content licenses have expired and to refresh the platform's library. Netflix removes old titles to bring in new content, which this time includes movies featuring legendary actors like Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Bradley Cooper, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Dakota Johnson, and Matt Damon. Many of these films are considered all-time favorites and have grossed billions of dollars at the box office.
For example, Crooked House, Baby Driver, Coach Carter, Blue Beetle, Captain Phillips, Crazy Rich Asians, Dirty Dancing, The Martian, Taxi Driver, Training Day, Scarface, Oceans 8, Zero Dark Thirty, Donnie Darko, Runaway Bride, The Mask, How to Be Single, Ghost, The Goonies, and Doctor Sleep will soon disappear. Additionally, popular franchises like Kung Fu Panda, The Hangover, Fifty Shades, G.I. Joe, Tomb Raider, and Maze Runner will also be removed from Netflix.
The same goes for TV shows and series. Popular series like Mr. Robot, Prison Break, Lost, House of Lies, and Star Trek will also be removed from the platform. If these titles are still on your watchlist, start binge-watching immediately without delay, as they will be gone forever in a few hours. Due to this change by Netflix, viewers will have to turn to alternative platforms, but this change will definitely be a topic of discussion at the beginning of the new year.
