In Chakaji village under the jurisdiction of Karpurigram police station in Samastipur district of Bihar, a 17-year-old intermediate student, Chandrakant Kumar, was brutally murdered by strangulation with a saree. Chandrakant was the son of Devkant Kumar, a resident of the same village. The body of this teenager, who went missing on Tuesday night, was found a short distance from the house on Wednesday morning, causing a shocking stir in the village.

Chandrakant's body was found in a seated position at the scene. A saree was tied around his neck and there were deep wounds on his neck, clearly suggesting strangulation. According to the family, Chandrakant left the house around 10 PM on Tuesday night. When he did not return for a long time, the family searched for him but could not find any trace. On Wednesday morning, villagers found his body near the toilet close to the house. Upon receiving the information, police from the Karpurigram police station arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem to the said hospital.

SDPO-1 Sanjay Kumar Pandey, who is investigating the case, stated that a shocking fact has emerged during the investigation. All incoming and outgoing call details from the deceased's mobile phone for the past four days have been completely deleted. The police suspect that a known person called or messaged him to lure him and then erased the data to destroy evidence. The mobile phone has been sent for forensic examination to recover this deleted data.

Although the possibility of a love affair being related to the murder is being investigated, the deceased's uncle Sanjay Kumar stated that Chandrakant mostly stayed at home and had no enmity with anyone. Nevertheless, the police are examining all aspects, and the investigation will continue until the exact details of the incident are revealed, clarified SDPO Sanjay Kumar Pandey. This brutal murder has created an atmosphere of fear among the villagers.
