Pune: A tragic and violent family dispute in Bahul village, located along the Chakan-Shikrapur road in Khed taluka, has led to the death of a 62-year-old man who was trying to mediate between two quarreling relatives. The shocking incident occurred on Friday, June 6, 2025, and has left the village in a state of fear and unrest.
The deceased, Dattatray Baburao Pansare, was killed after he attempted to intervene in an argument between his son Tukaram Dattatray Pansare and nephew Dashrath Gulab Pansare. According to police reports, Dashrath attacked Tukaram with an iron rod during the dispute, seriously injuring his hand. When Dattatray stepped in to calm the situation, Dashrath turned his rage towards him and fatally struck him in the chest with the same rod.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, conducted a panchnama (on-site investigation), and seized the murder weapon. Dashrath Pansare has been taken into custody, and an FIR has been registered against him. Tukaram is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries. Initial investigations suggest that tensions between the family members had been escalating for several days prior to the deadly confrontation. The local police, under the supervision of the Crime Branch inspector, are continuing their investigation.
The brutal nature of the attack has deeply disturbed residents of Bahul village.
