A threatening call came to the main control room of Mumbai Police on Friday morning. A woman police constable picked up the call. A suspicious bag was kept in Anmol Apartment near Marol Pipeline in Mukund Nagar area of Andheri and it is possible that there is a bomb or weapon in it. The caller said this. On receiving this information, the concerned woman police immediately informed the senior officers. After this, the entire system was alerted.
The police immediately rushed to the given location for investigation and detained a 19-year-old youth on suspicion. When information was taken from the family, it was found that the youth is suffering from autism and is saying many things ignorantly. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. After a thorough inspection of the spot, no bomb or weapon was found.
Mumbai Police has received more than a hundred such false threats in the last year. A senior officer said, "Every information has to be taken seriously because no warning can be taken lightly. In such cases, a case is registered and the accused is arrested. However, since there is no separate and strict law to take action against such incidents, the accused is released on bail early. Hence, a strict law is needed," he added.
