The case of the suicide of a female doctor working at the Phaltan Sub-District Hospital in Satara has sparked intense reactions across the state. Before committing suicide, the doctor wrote a seven-line message on her palm, making serious allegations of sexual assault and mental harassment against two police officers. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis himself has taken note of this incident, and the concerned police officers have been suspended.

However, a shocking turn has come in this case. The brother of the doctor who committed suicide has alleged that, “There was political pressure in my sister's case. The police delayed filing the FIR by four to five hours and took more than three and a half hours to conduct the post-mortem.” He claims that, “There were instructions to change the report from the MP's PA's phone.”

According to the doctor's family, the deceased doctor had previously submitted some applications and complaints, copies of which are now with their family. They stated that the complaints mentioned the PA of an MP and some police officers. They also revealed that the names of SP Mahadik, Police Inspector Gopal Bharne, and Prashant Bankar were mentioned.

The doctor's family has expressed anger and demanded justice. “Give the death penalty to those who harassed my child,” was the emotional demand made by the deceased doctor's mother. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Fadnavis has ordered the suspension of the accused officers and a thorough investigation of the case, and the entire state's attention is now focused on the further investigation of this case.
