Bollywood's renowned director Anurag Kashyap has put an end to the rumours of his retirement from the film industry by taking to social media to make his case. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he clarified that he has only changed cities, but film production is still going on.
Anurag wrote, "I have changed cities, I have not given up filmmaking. To those who think I have disappeared out of desperation, I tell you – I am here and so busy that I am working more than Shah Rukh Khan. (I have to do it, because I am not as rich as him!)"
He further mentioned that his schedule is full till 2028 and he has five directorial films to release this year. Of these, three will be released this year and two early next year.
He also responded to the trolls who are currently the talk of the town on social media. In recent interviews, he had expressed his displeasure with Bollywood. In an interview with 'The Hindu', he had said, "This industry has become very toxic. Everyone is just running after the 500-800 crore club. There is no room for creativity."
In another interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, "Making films is no longer fun. Everything starts with sales. So I want to leave Mumbai and go to South India and learn something new. Otherwise, I will die inside."
