As part of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully destroyed a terrorist launch pad in Sialkot, Pakistan. This significant strike comes amid ongoing cross-border hostilities, including multiple drone and missile attacks launched by Pakistan on Indian cities.
The operation follows a wave of Pakistani aggression, with missiles and drones targeting civilian and military infrastructure across India. On Friday, May 9, 2025, Pakistan once again launched coordinated drone attacks on 26 Indian locations. The targeted areas included sensitive zones across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
Among the cities attacked were Baramulla, Srinagar, Awantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala. However, all attacks were successfully intercepted and neutralized by Indian defense systems, preventing any major damage or casualties.
In a decisive response, Indian forces—led by the BSF—carried out a strategic operation targeting a terrorist launch pad situated in Sialkot, across the border in Pakistan. Intelligence inputs revealed that the site was being used by terrorist outfits, with the support of the Pakistani military, to coordinate and launch drone strikes on Indian territory.
The destruction of the Sialkot launch pad is being viewed as a significant blow to the infrastructure used for executing cross-border terrorism. According to sources, the launch pad was a hub for drone operations and was heavily guarded.
Officials have stated that such actions are a necessary measure to safeguard Indian citizens and to dismantle the machinery of state-sponsored terrorism operating from Pakistani soil.
