Afghanistan experienced yet another earthquake on Monday morning, marking the fourth seismic event in the country in the past four days. According to official reports, the earthquake measured 4.2 on the Richter scale and occurred at 8:54 a.m. IST.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 140 kilometers below the earth’s surface, suggesting it was a deep-focus quake. Fortunately, no casualties or damage to property have been reported so far.
While Afghanistan frequently experiences seismic activity due to its location in a tectonically active region, the recent spate of consecutive tremors has raised concerns among residents and authorities. Seismologists continue to monitor the situation closely.
