Pahalgam Attack: Encrypted Chats Reveal Terrorists Used Banned Chinese Satellite Phone

This phone is suspected to have been smuggled into India from Pakistan or any other foreign source.

A few days ago, a terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam. Innocent Hindus were killed in this attack. The NIA is investigating the case. Meanwhile, security agencies have tracked the movements of a suspicious 'Huawei satellite phone'. Huawei is a Chinese company and its satellite products are banned in India. It is suspected that this phone was smuggled into India from Pakistan or any other foreign source.

NIA Disclosures:

According to sources, the terrorists who carried out the attack were contacted four times. But the attack drone could not be used due to the large number of people present. It has been reported that at least 10 people were chatting and calling their handlers through encrypted apps before and during the attack.

NIA has taken over the investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack. The investigation into the terror attack that took place in the Baisran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir has been started by a team of NIA formed under the supervision of the Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police and Superintendent of Police, officials told PTI.

Satellite phone features:

This phone has an internal antenna and some chips. This makes it easy to connect external devices. However, this phone requires a China Telecom SIM. This phone provides low-bandwidth voice and text facilities. This phone also works in areas without cellular coverage.
