Severe damage has occurred in the country due to the rain that started in the last week of June in Pakistan, and so far more than 300 citizens have died. Among the deceased, there are as many as 140 children, according to the information provided by the Disaster Management Authority.
In this natural disaster, 715 citizens have been injured, and there has been significant damage to property. Approximately 1,676 houses have been affected, of which 562 houses have completely collapsed. The rain has also impacted animals, with more than 428 animals having perished.
Due to the flood situation caused by the rain, incidents of landslides, electric shocks, and building collapses have occurred in many areas. This has resulted in significant loss of life. Government agencies are rapidly conducting aid and rescue operations, and so far, approximately 2,880 citizens have been relocated to safe places.
As assistance to citizens, 1,999 tents, 958 warm blankets, 569 quilts, 1,163 food packets, 1,122 hygiene kits, 1,282 cooking utensil sets, 2,170 plastic sheets, and 146 pumps for water extraction have been distributed. Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a warning that from August 4 to August 7, there is a possibility of heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in the northern part of the country. Therefore, citizens are urged to remain alert.
