The U.S. announced sanctions on 32 companies and individuals in several countries, including India and China, over allegations related to Iran's ballistic missile program. The U.S. State Department said they have imposed sanctions on a total of 32 entities and individuals in countries including China, Iran, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and India.
The United States stated that this action was taken because Iran is not adhering to nuclear commitments. John K. Hurley, the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Counterterrorism and Financial Intelligence Department, informed that Iran is using global financial systems to exchange money. It is conducting nuclear and conventional weapons programs. The U.S. is pressuring Iran to cancel its nuclear program. Along with this action, the U.S. expects the international community to fully implement United Nations sanctions on Iran, so that access to the global financial system is blocked. The U.S. has now imposed significant sanctions on countries and companies assisting Iran. The U.S. clearly believes that Iran is conducting dangerous tests. They have also imposed some direct sanctions on India.
