A revolutionary step is being taken for passengers stuck in urban traffic congestion. Sarla Aviation Company has started trials of their electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxi in Bengaluru. This project has developed in just nine months, accelerating urban air mobility in India.
The company has started ground testing of their semi-scale demo aircraft SYL-X1, which is the largest and most advanced private eVTOL aircraft in India. The wings of this aircraft are 7.5 meters long and it is now being tested on the actual aircraft beyond design and laboratory tests. The engine system, power, and safety are being evaluated, which will serve as a foundation for future full-scale air taxi models.
Sarla Aviation has recently raised 13 million dollars in funding and will soon develop a fully stable aircraft to be showcased on the India mobility platform. According to the company, this aircraft is completely electric, making it environmentally friendly and will revolutionize urban transportation.
