In the aftermath of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India has taken a series of bold and strategic actions against Pakistan, significantly heightening tensions between the two nations.

In a swift and multi-pronged response, India initially halted water supply to Pakistan under the Indus Waters Treaty, signaling a strong shift in its diplomatic stance. Within 48 hours of the Pahalgam attack, India also issued orders for all Pakistani nationals residing in the country to leave Indian territory, further isolating Islamabad diplomatically and socially.

Indian military forces have launched major air strikes on Pakistani soil, targeting key terrorist infrastructure. According to defence sources, the Indian Air Force has destroyed nine terror camps located in Bhimber, Kotli, Sarjal (Sialkot), Mehmoon Joya, Markaz Taiba in Muridke, and Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur. These strikes were part of a coordinated operation, which included deceptive mock drills to distract Pakistani forces prior to the attack.

The aftermath of these strikes has triggered chaos within Pakistan. In response to escalating tensions, the Pakistani government has shut down internet services across the Punjab province. A state of emergency has been declared at Lahore airport, which has been closed for 48 hours. Sialkot airport has also been shut down, causing major disruptions in air travel and inconvenience to the public.

The situation remains tense, with further developments anticipated. India has reiterated its commitment to ensuring national security and eradicating cross-border terrorism, while the global community watches closely.
