The Joint Wheel cradle set up at the Shri Gahininath Hazrat Gaibipir Urs in Kagal, Kolhapur, got stuck in the air due to technical reasons. The 18 people seated in this cradle were stuck at a height of 80 feet for a full four hours.

They were seated in the cradle at 08:30 PM. After the rescue team along with the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade immediately departed towards Kagal, from 11:30 PM, the rescue team of the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade started bringing down the 18 trapped individuals one by one.

By 12:30 AM, everyone was safely brought down. This included five women, four children, and nine men. All these individuals were from Kagal, Kaneri Math, and Gokul Shirgaon. This rescue operation lasted for a total of four hours. The rescue operation was completed at 12:48 AM.

The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade and the District Disaster Management Team jointly completed this operation. Many citizens were trapped in the cradle as the joint wheel ride got stuck at a height, causing fear among the citizens. Meanwhile, the police had started efforts to disperse the crowd.
