A devastating explosion rocked Sigachi Pharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit located in the Pashamylaram industrial area of Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Monday morning. The blast claimed the lives of eight people and left 26 others injured, with several in critical condition. Authorities fear that the death toll may rise as rescue operations continue.

According to officials from the fire department, the explosion was so powerful that it led to the collapse of a three-story building on the premises. Preliminary reports suggest that several workers may still be trapped under the debris. Multiple fire and emergency response teams were deployed immediately to carry out rescue efforts.

Initial investigations indicate that the explosion may have been caused by a pressure build-up in the drying unit, though the exact cause is still under investigation by the local police and forensic teams.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and directed officials to provide swift medical assistance and relief to the victims. He has also ordered a detailed inquiry to determine whether there was any negligence or violation of safety protocols at the facility.
