The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a major opportunity for young aspirants aiming to join the Indian Armed Forces. A total of 406 seats have been declared for admission to the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Indian Naval Academy (INA). The second joint entrance examination for these institutions is scheduled to be held on September 14, 2025, with training set to commence from July 1, 2026.
A total of 406 vacancies will be filled through this examination. This includes 370 posts for NDA and 36 posts for INA under the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme.
Army Wing: 208 seats (including 10 for women)
Naval Wing: 42 seats (including 5 for women)
Air Force Wing:
Flying Branch: 92 seats (including 2 for women)
Ground Duty (Technical): 18 seats (including 2 for women)
Ground Duty (Non-Technical): 10 seats (including 2 for women)
For 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme
Reserved for women: 4 seats
For NDA (Army Wing): Passed Class 12 in any stream.
For NDA (Naval & Air Force Wings) and INA: Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
NDA Candidates: Will undergo 3 years of training at the NDA Academy in Pune.
INA Candidates: Will receive 4 years of training at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala.
Upon successful completion, degrees will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU):
Army: BA / B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Computer Science)
Navy: B.Tech
Air Force: B.Tech / B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Computer Science)
The examination will be conducted in various cities including:
Mumbai
Pune
Nagpur
Navi Mumbai
Thane
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Panaji, and others.
