A 32-year-old doctor from Mumbai allegedly attempted to end his life by jumping off the Atal Setu in Navi Mumbai on Monday night, sparking a major search operation and raising serious concerns about safety on the newly inaugurated bridge.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 9:43 PM. The individual has been identified as Dr. Omkar Bhagwat Kavitake, a resident of Avinash Society in Kalamboli and a practicing doctor at Mumbai’s J.J. Hospital. According to preliminary information, Dr. Kavitake is suspected to have jumped into the creek from his Honda Amaze (registration number MH 46 CM 6837) while driving onto the Atal Setu.
