Raj Kapoor Award: Honoring Kajol's 33 years of contribution, special recognition on her birthday.

Actress Kajol, who has captivated audiences with her effortlessly beautiful acting in the Hindi film industry, was honored with the Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award. On August 5, 2025, the 60th and 61st Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards ceremony was held in a special format at the NSCI Dome in Worli. On this occasion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar, and Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, along with many dignitaries from the Marathi and Hindi film industry, were present.

In this grand ceremony, Kajol was honored with the 'Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award' for her invaluable contribution of 33 years to the Hindi entertainment industry. Notably, it was also Kajol's 51st birthday on the same day, making this honor even more special for her. Along with this award, she was given a trophy and a cash prize of 6 lakh rupees.

Expressing her feelings after accepting the award, Kajol said,

“Today is my birthday. I am standing on the stage in front of so many dignitaries. This day is very big for me because my mother (Tanuja) is sitting in front and I am wearing her saree. Notably, she was also honored with the same award on this stage. Receiving this award today is a great fortune for me. Today I feel that I have definitely done something in life.”

Speaking of Kajol's work, Kajol made her debut in the Hindi film industry with the movie 'Bekhudi' in 1992. She then proved her acting prowess through many acclaimed films such as 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Gupt', 'Fanaa', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'My Name is Khan'. Her roles not only made a mark at the box office but also won the hearts of the audience.

She is not just an actress but has become an inspiration for many budding artists. In 2011, the Government of India honored Kajol with the 'Padma Shri' award. Even today, she entertains the audience with the same enthusiasm, in her unique style. This award has provided not only her career but also her birthday with an unforgettable memory. It has once again highlighted how actresses like Kajol have enriched the Indian film industry.
