Heavy Rain Alert : After Maharashtra, now continuous heavy rains in UP for the next four days

In Maharashtra, the rain had caused havoc over the past three to four days. This resulted in complete disruption of transportation services across the state, and waterlogging on the roads. Due to the heavy rain, water entered societies and homes, and schools and colleges were given holidays throughout the state. The rain had battered the entire Maharashtra over the past few days. However, today the rain has subsided compared to the past few days and is continuing with light winds.

Meanwhile, after Maharashtra, the Indian Meteorological Department has informed that the monsoon winds have now shifted to Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in both eastern and western parts of Uttar Pradesh between August 22 and 25. The weather department has predicted that the low-pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal may strengthen further in the next 24-48 hours, intensifying the monsoon movements.

As a result, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in southern Uttar Pradesh. Alerts have been issued in several districts due to this. Recently, the intensity of rain had decreased in the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, a yellow alert has been issued for some districts in anticipation of the upcoming rain.

This time, the rain will enter from the districts of Prayagraj, Banda, Chitrakoot, and Kaushambi in southern Uttar Pradesh, gradually maintaining its intensity across the state. Additionally, meteorologists have indicated the possibility of heavy rainfall in Varanasi, Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Siddharth Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Saharanpur, Azamgarh, Bijnor, Barabanki, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Bhadohi, Basti, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, S.S. Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, and surrounding areas.
