In the Mahindra Thar showroom in Delhi's Preet Vihar area, a woman's joyous moment turned into a tragic accident. The woman had come to the showroom with her family to purchase a Thar worth 2.7 million rupees. After buying the car, she decided to perform the traditional ritual of breaking a lemon to ward off evil.
After the ritual, the woman started the car and tried to crush the lemon placed in front of the wheel. However, at the same time, she accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the Thar to speed up rapidly. Within moments, she lost control of the vehicle, and the speeding Thar broke through the showroom's glass wall and fell from the first floor onto the road below. The car, which fell from an estimated 15 feet, overturned.
The woman in the car was seriously injured in the accident. However, her life was saved because the airbags deployed. The showroom staff and family members quickly admitted her to a nearby hospital. After treatment, once her condition stabilized, she was discharged home. Fortunately, no other employees or customers in the showroom were injured in the accident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhania stated that no complaint has been filed in this incident yet. There is widespread discussion in the area about the accident, raising questions about how such a major incident occurred due to traditional practices.
