Airbus has issued an important safety warning regarding their popular A320 series aircraft. Intense solar radiation may affect the data of the flight-control systems installed in aircraft. As this issue is of a serious nature, airlines around the world have increased vigilance.

Following this warning from Airbus, Indigo, Air India, and Air India Express issued statements saying that the service of A320 series aircraft in their fleet may be temporarily affected. According to sources, in India, about 200 to 250 such aircraft will require an immediate software update or hardware replacement as needed.

According to news agency PTI, to carry out these upgrades, airlines will have to ground the concerned aircraft for some time. This could soon lead to an increase in delays or cancellations in flight schedules. This change is considered essential from a flight safety perspective, and preparations are in full swing by the airlines.

European airline Airbus has said that they are urgently ordering a software update for A320 aircraft. The software change is for about 6,000 of the company’s planes. This applies to more than half of the aircraft worldwide. Air India shared a post on social media saying that Airbus has issued guidelines for the A320, which involve some software and hardware changes in the Airbus A320s in Air India’s fleet.

Which could cause operational delays and increase flight times. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to passengers. There is a possibility of service disruption until the Airbus A320 is reset. We request passengers to check their flight information at https://airindia.com/in/en/manage/flight-status.htlml before arriving at the airport, they said.
