Ajit Pawar's First Move! First List of 37 Candidates Announced; Malik Family's Entry

In this context, for the Mumbai municipal elections, the Nationalist Congress Party under the leadership of Ajit Pawar has made its first move by announcing the first list of its candidates.

In this context, the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar has made the first move for the Mumbai municipal elections by announcing the first list of its candidates. A total of 37 candidates have been given the opportunity in this list. It has become clear that the Nationalist Congress Party will contest the Mumbai municipal elections independently. It was earlier stated that a total of 100 candidates would be fielded by the party. Accordingly, the names of 37 people have been announced in the first phase. Notably, three members of former minister Nawab Malik's family have been given candidacy in this list.

Malik Family Candidacy

Nawab Malik's brother Captain Malik, sister Dr. Saeeda Khan, and daughter-in-law Bushra Malik are all contesting the municipal elections this year. Due to changes in reservation in the wards, Captain Malik has chosen a different ward for himself, and his daughter-in-law has been given candidacy from his previous ward.

Immediate Preparation Orders for Candidates

The candidates announced by the Nationalist Congress Party will be given official AB forms from tomorrow. The entire responsibility of the Mumbai municipal elections has been entrusted to Nawab Malik and MLA Sana Malik. Therefore, it is clear that the party has decided to fight independently, taking a different path from the grand alliance.

First List of Candidates

This first list includes experienced as well as new faces from various wards in the city. It includes Manish Dubey, Cyril D'Souza, Ahmed Khan, Baban Madane, Subhash Patade, Sachin Tambe, Ayesha Khan, Sajju Malik, Shobha Jadhav, Harishchandra Jangam, Akshay Pawar, Jyoti Sadavarte, Rachana Gawas, Bhagyashree Kedare, Somu Pawar, Captain Malik, Chandan Patekar, Disha More, Sabia Merchant, Vilas Ghule, Ajay Vichare, Hadiya Qureshi, Mamta Thakur, Yusuf Memon, Amit Patil, Dhananjay Pisal, Pratiksha Ghughe, Nagratna Bankar, Chandni Srivastava, Dilip Patil, Ankita Drave, Laxman Gaikwad, Dr. Saeeda Khan, Bushra Malik, Vasanthi Devendra, Kiran Shinde, and Fareen Khan.

Other Parties Also in Final Stages of Preparation

Meanwhile, some aspirants are disappointed as Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party has decided to contest the elections in Mumbai with the Thackeray brothers. Some of them are seen joining the Ajit Pawar faction. On the other hand, seat-sharing discussions between the Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena and MNS are in the final stages.

Discussions on seat-sharing between the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance are also almost complete, and their candidate lists are likely to be announced soon. As a result, the political picture in Mumbai is expected to become clearer in the coming hours.
