Will the elections be contested as a grand alliance and Maha Vikas Aghadi?
In the state, local self-government elections are going to be held in the next few months. Against the backdrop of these elections, developments in the state have gained momentum. All constituent parties of the grand alliance and Maha Vikas Aghadi have started their preparations for the elections at their respective levels. However, there is still no official announcement on whether the local self-government elections will be contested as a grand alliance and Maha Vikas Aghadi.
On one hand, the Chief Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis, has clearly stated a few days ago that we will contest the elections of local self-government bodies in the state as a grand alliance. There might be exceptions in some places where there will be a friendly contest, but for us, the first option is the grand alliance, as Fadnavis has said. However, after that, due to the statement made by senior leader Praful Patel of the NCP Ajit Pawar group, discussions have surged.
What exactly did Praful Patel say?
Will the Nationalist Congress Party contest the local self-government elections in the grand alliance? Speaking on this, Praful Patel, leader of the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, made a significant statement. Municipal council elections are at the local level. Many activists are eager to contest these elections. Therefore, a grand alliance is possible in major elections, but considering the sentiments of the activists, it is better to contest these smaller elections independently, as it does justice to the activists, said Praful Patel. As a result, there is now political speculation about whether the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party will give the call for 'Ekla Chalo Re' in the local self-government elections.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, it is still unclear how the Mahavikas Aghadi will contest the local self-government elections. Additionally, there is ongoing discussion about an alliance between the two Thackeray brothers in state politics, MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena Thackeray group's chief Uddhav Thackeray, which has heightened the anticipation regarding these elections.
