An extraordinary incident unfolded at Jhansi railway station when a pregnant woman suddenly went into labor, and an army officer came to her rescue, delivering the baby using only a hair clip and a pocket knife.

In a heartwarming and heroic act, Major Dr. Rohit Bachwala (31) of the Army Medical Corps helped a woman give birth on the platform of Jhansi railway station after she went into sudden labor. With no medical equipment available, Major Bachwala acted swiftly, setting up a makeshift medical setup and safely delivering the baby.

Quick Action Amid Crisis

According to North Central Railway officials, the woman was traveling from Panvel to Gorakhpur on an express train when she began experiencing intense labor pains as the train reached Jhansi station. Witnessing her condition, female railway staff and military personnel posted at the station rushed to assist.

Major Bachwala, who happened to be waiting on the platform for his vehicle, quickly assessed the emergency and took control of the situation. Using only a hair clip to clamp the umbilical cord and a small pocket knife to cut it, he ensured a safe and hygienic delivery under challenging circumstances.

Safe and Stable

Following the delivery, both the mother and newborn were immediately transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Doctors later confirmed that both are in stable and healthy condition.

This incident has earned widespread praise and admiration. Passengers, railway staff, and netizens have hailed Major Rohit Bachwala as a real-life hero for his composure, medical expertise, and humanity.
