Beed: Sand mafia attack on tehsildar's team in Beed, case filed against nine people

An incident occurred in Ashti taluka of Beed where sand mafias attacked the tehsildar and their team who were taking action against illegal sand extraction and seizing vehicles. In this, there was also an attempt to kill a talathi by running a JCB over him, and a case has been registered at the Ashti police station regarding this matter. Revenue officials had received information about illegal sand extraction in the Sina riverbed at Waki in Ashti taluka.

Accordingly, Tehsildar Vaishali Patil and her team took action at the site, seizing tractors and JCBs, and while they were heading towards Ashti city, sand mafias intercepted them on the road and attempted to snatch the vehicles in their possession.

There was also an attempt to kill Talathi Sachin Telang, who opposed this, by running a JCB over him. This incident occurred where sand mafias abused and assaulted revenue officers and employees in the middle of the road, and a case has been registered at the Ashti Rural Police Station.

The police are conducting further investigation into this case. The serious issue is that just eight days ago, sand mafias attacked villagers who said not to carry out illegal sand extraction at this location. Now, with a direct attack on the revenue team, the terror of sand mafias in this area has come to light.
