Good and equally important news has emerged for millions of women in Maharashtra. Under the state government's 'Chief Minister My Beloved Sister' scheme, a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 is provided. However, to receive this benefit regularly, completing the e-KYC process has now been made mandatory. It has been clarified by the Government of Maharashtra that only beneficiaries who have completed e-KYC will receive the subsequent installments.
Technical errors have been found in the applications of many women. Some have mistakenly selected options like “government job” or “pension holder,” which has halted their benefits. Since December 2025, installments for many women have been delayed, and they have not received the amount. Against this backdrop, the government has made an online correction facility available. Previously, there was a verification plan through Anganwadi workers; however, now the entire process has been made online.
Importantly, women whose installments for the past few months are pending can receive all installments together after successfully completing e-KYC. For example, if four months' installments are pending, an amount of approximately ₹6,000 (₹1,500 × 4) can be directly deposited into the bank account. Therefore, the administration has urged beneficiaries not to miss this opportunity.
In this context, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare has made an important announcement. The final deadline for e-KYC amendment has been set for March 31, 2026. The original deadline was until December 2025; however, it has been extended to provide additional opportunities to beneficiaries. It has also been clarified that no opportunity for amendment will be given after this date. Beneficiaries should visit the official website to verify their information. It is necessary to ensure whether the Aadhaar number is linked, bank account details are correct, and the options in the application are accurately selected.
The 'Chief Minister My Beloved Sister' scheme has been launched to support economically weaker women. Against the backdrop of rising inflation, this monthly assistance is proving to be a significant support for many families. Therefore, it is extremely important to complete the process on time without neglecting technical aspects like e-KYC. Overall, by correcting the appropriate documents and information, women can receive the outstanding amount in a lump sum. Therefore, beneficiaries are urged to make the necessary corrections before March 31, 2026, to regularly avail the benefits of the scheme.
