There are currently significant changes in the state's weather, with an increase in temperature due to cloudy conditions. The entire month of December felt extremely cold in the state. However, from the very first day of the year, the weather pattern has changed, and rainy cloudy conditions have developed in many areas. As a result, the cold has suddenly disappeared.

In some parts of the state, cloud cover is increasing after noon, and there is a possibility of light to moderate rain. Due to the cloudy conditions, the night temperature is also higher than expected. Although a major cold wave alert has been issued in the northern states, weather experts say that these cold waves are not reaching Maharashtra as expected. Therefore, the impact of the cold seems to have diminished.

According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department, although the cold will persist in the month of January, fluctuations in the weather are expected. Based on the current situation, there is a possibility of a drop in temperature again in the next two to three days. However, until then, cloudy weather and the possibility of rain are expected to persist. Even today, many parts of the state are likely to experience cloudy weather.

Meanwhile, the issue of air pollution is also becoming serious. Pollution levels are rapidly increasing in major cities like Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi. It has been observed that the air becomes more toxic, especially in the evening. This is directly affecting the health of citizens, with respiratory diseases, eye irritation, and asthma problems increasing. Doctors have advised citizens with respiratory issues to use masks. It is being said that the administration is making efforts to control pollution.

Speaking of temperature, Dhule recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 7 degrees Celsius. Nagpur, Yavatmal, Gondia, Bhandara, and Jalgaon recorded a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the increase in minimum temperature in the state is likely to persist for some time.

Considering the weather conditions across the country, light to moderate rain and snowfall are expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between January 16 and 19. Rain is also forecasted in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and western Uttar Pradesh on January 18 and 19. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rain in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
