At the beginning of November, there was a lot of rain in the state, but now there has been a significant change in the weather across the country, including Maharashtra. The cold, which Mumbaikars, often troubled by the heat, were eagerly waiting for, finally seems to be arriving. Mumbai is now experiencing the onset of winter. The temperature has dropped to a minimum of 20 degrees, and it is expected to remain between 18 to 19 degrees in the next two days. Therefore, Mumbaikars can enjoy the cold by taking out their sweaters and jackets. Additionally, the weather department has predicted that the cold will persist in various parts of the state. The temperature is dropping in most cities in the state, and the chill is expected to continue for the next 2-3 days, until Monday, according to the weather department.

Cold wave to hit the state

The maximum temperature in the state is gradually decreasing. Cold air currents from the north are heading towards the state, increasing the cold. The cold wave that has arrived in North Maharashtra will persist for a few days. The chill is expected to increase in the state, and the weather department has issued a warning of a cold wave in many places. As the cold intensifies, the maximum temperature has also started to drop.

On Friday, Mumbai's minimum temperature fell below 20, recorded at 18.4 degrees Celsius. This weather is expected to remain for another 2-3 days, with the cold persisting over the weekend, Saturday-Sunday, and even until Monday. In the next 2-3 days, the cold is likely to drop further to 16 to 17 degrees. Meanwhile, during the two weeks from November 14 to 20 and November 21 to 27, the minimum temperature in most parts of Maharashtra and central India may remain below normal.

Cold wave persists in Nashik

The cold wave continues in Nashik. The city's temperature has been around 10 degrees for the past week. Additionally, the cold wave is expected to intensify next week. Nashik is chilled by the cold, and a blanket of fog was seen over the Godavari. Due to the increasing cold, fog spread throughout the city.

Air quality deteriorates in Mumbai

Signs of winter have appeared in Mumbai, the mercury has dropped, and the cold has affected air quality. The air quality has deteriorated again. The AQI has now reached 187, entering the hazardous range. A hazy atmosphere has formed again in Mumbai, and the afternoon heat has also increased.

Mumbai currently ranks 52nd in the list of the world's most polluted cities. The PM 2.5 level in the air has reached 108, while the PM 10 level has reached 138, and it is increasing day by day. This raises the likelihood of respiratory diseases among Mumbaikars. Currently, due to significant development projects and a rise in building construction in Mumbai, dust particles have mixed into the air in large quantities, leading to a deterioration in air quality. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Maharashtra State Pollution Control Board are focused on this air pollution issue in Mumbai.
