As the political atmosphere begins to heat up in the backdrop of the Mumbai municipal elections, Congress leader and former MLA Bhai Jagtap has made a significant statement. "Only a Congress mayor will be elected in Mumbai, and without Congress support, a mayor cannot be seated in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation," Bhai Jagtap has asserted firmly. This statement has sparked new discussions in Mumbai's politics.

Bhai Jagtap said that the strength of Congress in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation is still decisive. If any party wants to establish power, the support of Congress is indispensable. “The minority, middle class, workers, and slum voters in Mumbai still trust Congress. Therefore, in the upcoming elections, the role of Congress will not only be that of a kingmaker but also of the ruling party,” he expressed confidence.

He also made a suggestive statement about the Maha Vikas Aghadi. If proper seat allocation and coordination are achieved, the mayor of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be from the Maha Vikas Aghadi, Bhai Jagtap clarified. He indicated that discussions with Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) and the Nationalist Congress Party are ongoing.

Criticizing the BJP, Bhai Jagtap said that over the years, the BJP has only given promises to Mumbaikars, but failed to solve fundamental issues. Problems like water scarcity, road conditions, healthcare system, and corruption still persist.

Meanwhile, due to Bhai Jagtap's statement, the headache for BJP and other parties has increased, and it is clear that the Mumbai municipal elections will be more competitive. It will be important to see which side the voters support in the actual election.
