A murder incident that took place in the market area of Islampur city on Wednesday, April 24, has created a stir in the area. At around 1.30 pm, a person was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon while he was near the market's panpatti. The person, who was seriously injured in the attack, was immediately shifted to the sub-district hospital. However, the doctors declared him dead before treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Nitin Sanjay Palkar (aged around 40), who was an active criminal on the local police record. He had previous cases of extortion, assault, assault and other serious offences. He was also booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MOCCA) some time ago.
Police Inspector Sanjay Harugade and his colleagues immediately rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. After the incident, an atmosphere of fear has been created among the citizens in the area, and the police have increased security at the spot. Islampur police is conducting further investigation into the matter, and some suspects are being kept under surveillance in the wake of the incident.
