In the bustling Powai area of Mumbai, an incident involving a person named Rohit Arya taking some children hostage due to his pending demands not being fulfilled by the Maharashtra government has become a topic of discussion. It has been reported that Rohit Arya died in a police encounter. Meanwhile, photos of the encounter with Rohit Arya have gone viral on the Twitter handle of the then Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar.

At that time, the then Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Uday Samant were also present. It has come to light that Rohit Arya conducted an initiative for the education department. Reacting to this, Deepak Kesarkar said, "Rohit Arya did a good job. His programs were good. Therefore, he is appreciated. However, it is wrong to hold children hostage. This should not happen. Fortunately, the police rescued the children, but it is very sad that Rohit Arya died in the encounter. In my view, the lives of the children are important. The education department has clarified why their bill was pending. He had directly launched a website and collected money from the children, and there was a condition to return that money. That condition was not followed, hence the bill remained pending."

Also, Nitin Satpute has alleged that Rohit Arya's encounter was fake. Former minister Deepak Kesarkar has responded to this. He said, "The child was in their custody. If anything had happened to the children, it would not have been justified. Rohit Arya's bills were pending, and I had told the police to arrange a meeting with them. His unfortunate demise is extremely saddening from my perspective. I will try to ensure that his pending bills are given to his family. If I had been allowed to speak with him and he was not satisfied, and if he had done something to the children, I would never have been able to forgive myself".
