Due to the ongoing heavy rains in Mumbai, dangerous situations have arisen in various places. A heart-wrenching incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Pannalal Compound area of Bhandup. A 17-year-old boy died after coming into contact with an open high-tension wire of MSEB on the road. The deceased boy's name was Deepak Pille, and the accident happened while he was on his way home.
Witnesses' shouts, but warning not heard due to headphones
According to local residents, Deepak was wearing headphones at the time of the accident. When the danger on the road was noticed, the residents of the area repeatedly shouted to warn him to move aside. However, he could not hear anything due to the headphones. As a result, he directly came into contact with the open electric wire and collapsed on the spot due to a severe shock.
Eyewitness Dinesh Jain said, "As soon as we saw from a distance, we shouted to warn him. We even tried to run to him, but by then he had directly touched the wire and fallen down. At that moment, we couldn't do anything."
Anger against the administration
This incident has created an atmosphere of intense anger and fear among the residents of the area. "Hundreds of people pass through the road daily. In such a situation, the danger posed by open high-tension wires is a serious negligence," expressed the locals. The citizens have demanded immediate safety measures from the electricity board at this location.
Question mark on headphone usage
This accident has also highlighted the adverse effects of using headphones. The incident has made it clear how dangerous it can be to not hear external sounds due to being constantly engrossed in headphones.
Demand for investigation and repair
Deepak's death has cast a pall of gloom over the area. The locals have demanded that the electricity board and municipal administration immediately inspect the electrical wires in this area and carry out necessary repairs. There is also a strong demand for action against those responsible for this accident.
