The capital was shaken by a massive explosion near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi on Monday evening. The explosion, which occurred at 6:52 PM in an i20 car, resulted in the death of 9 people and injured more than 20 others. There was chaos in the area following the explosion. Investigation revealed that this car was parked near the Sunheri Masjid a few hours before the explosion. Initial inquiries suggest that this might be a suicide terrorist attack.
During the investigation, the names of four doctors have come to light, complicating the case further.
Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather – This doctor, working at Anantnag Medical College, was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir police. An AK-47 rifle was found in his locker, and he is suspected of having links with Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
Female doctor – An 'assault rifle' was seized from a female doctor from Lucknow, who was caught in Faridabad. She was working at Al-Falah University. The police are investigating her role in the network.
Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed – This doctor from Hyderabad, arrested by the Gujarat ATS, has received medical education in China. It has been revealed that he prepared the highly lethal poison 'ricin' and conducted reconnaissance of crowded places in Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow.
Dr. Muzammil Shakeel – From this doctor, a teacher at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, 360 kg of ammonium nitrate and 2,563 kg of explosives have been seized from other locations. The police claim he has connections with banned organizations. The Special Cell and ATS teams from various states are continuing the investigation into this incident, and more important evidence is expected to emerge in the coming days.
