Literary Dr. Nitin Wagh passes away : Renowned Nashik-based literary figure, critic, and scholar Dr. Nitin Bharat Wagh (aged 48) passed away on Monday evening in Panaji, Goa due to a heart attack. His passing has created a significant void in the Marathi literary world, and it is being expressed that a mature thinker who studied Buddhist philosophy and Ambedkarite ideology has been lost.

Dr. Wagh conducted an in-depth study of literature and society for many years. His novels 'Zen' and 'Nilavanti' gained special popularity. He also contributed to the field of film scriptwriting. The core of his writing was the study of the thoughts of Buddha, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Namdeo Dhasal. His ambitious book 'Hindu-Mughal Cultural Coordination, Aurangzeb, Muslims of India after 1857' was ready for publication. However, due to his untimely demise before reaching the readers, literature enthusiasts are expressing regret.

While discussing book publication with senior writer Rajan Gawas in Sawantwadi, he suffered a heart attack at the hotel. He was immediately moved to Oros in Sindhudurg for angioplasty. Later, he was taken to Panaji in Goa. However, he took his last breath while undergoing treatment.

After his demise, a wave of grief has spread among family, literary figures, and fans. On Tuesday afternoon, his last rites will be performed at Amardham Crematorium in Panchavati, Nashik. Dr. Wagh is survived by his parents, wife, son, and two brothers.
