After Ahilyanagar, now shocking information has come to light that the grand alliance in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Mahapalika Election) has broken. State Minister Sanjay Shirsat has officially announced this. Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena has decided to contest the elections independently, announced on Tuesday.
Sanjay Shirsat strongly criticized the BJP in a conversation with journalists. He said, “Both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister tried for a Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. We attempted many meetings at the local level. However, local BJP workers were in a different stance from the beginning. This made it difficult to maintain the alliance.”
Shirsat clarified that nine to ten meetings were organized for the alliance, including a meeting with Bawankule. Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis were also in contact during these meetings. Although the initial decision on seat allocation was made, the BJP made some changes and maintained its stance. “While allocating seats, a hitch was created, and obstacles were created in Shiv Sena's decision-making process. On the other hand, some candidates were being asked to file nominations. This kind of arrogance led to the breakup of the alliance,” said Shirsat.
Sanjay Shirsat said, “Our strength has increased. We can do anything independently. The alliance efforts did not succeed due to BJP's arrogance and their insensitive stance.”
According to political analysts, the political equation of the election in Sambhajinagar is likely to change due to the split in the grand alliance. Whether the Shiv Sena contesting independently will affect the Maha Vikas Aghadi or the BJP will become clear in the coming times. This event will be significant in the strategy of the municipal elections in the state.
