The weather in Maharashtra has now taken a clear turn. The hint of cold felt over the past few days is now turning into a chill. According to the forecast given by the Meteorological Department (IMD), from November 10, the minimum temperature is likely to drop significantly in most parts of the state. This is the right time for citizens to take precautions against the cold and for farmers to take special care of their crops.

Temperature drop in Maharashtra due to snowfall

While the entire October passed with rain, citizens are now experiencing a pleasant chill from the second week of November. Due to the snowfall in the Himalayas four days ago, cold winds have started blowing from North India towards South India. These cold winds have caused the minimum temperature to drop in North Maharashtra, Central Maharashtra, and Mumbai along with the surrounding areas.

Mumbai's temperature at 19 degrees Celsius

On Sunday morning, Mumbai's minimum temperature was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius. Weather experts have informed that the minimum temperature will remain low throughout the week. Due to the drop in minimum temperature, Mumbaikars experienced a cool Sunday. It was observed that Mumbaikars felt the chill not only at night but also during the day.

Cold wave to hit Maharashtra

A cold wave is likely to hit Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas. As a result, the temperature in North Central Maharashtra will drop further over the next four to five days. Night temperatures are expected to remain two to four degrees lower. The minimum temperature in most cities of the state is being recorded around 15 to 18 degrees. Mumbai has dropped to 19. There is a possibility of further decline in temperature, and citizens will be able to enjoy the chilly cold until Friday. After that, however, there will be a slight increase in temperature, but the chill will remain. In the six districts of Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ch. Sambhaji Nagar, and North Ahilya Nagar, the minimum temperature will drop by 2 to 4 degrees below average, and in Vidarbha by 2 degrees. There is a possibility of good cold weather throughout the week until Saturday.

Increased Cold in Marathwada

In the districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, and Dharashiv in Marathwada, the weather will remain cold and dry. Particularly in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the minimum temperature dropping to 11°C will make the cold most noticeable.
