Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has emphasized the importance of transparency, dynamism, and compassion in the functioning of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, particularly in extending medical assistance to the needy. “Serving patients is akin to serving God. Every officer and employee involved with the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and the Charitable Hospital Help Desk must work with sincerity and sensitivity,” he said.
Fadnavis was speaking at the valedictory session of a training workshop held at the Maharashtra Environmental Engineering Training and Research Academy (MITRA) in Nashik.
Highlighting the achievements since the cell's establishment in 2014, Fadnavis noted that the CM’s Relief Fund Cell was created with the objective of building public trust while providing medical aid to economically disadvantaged patients. The cell recently earned international recognition by receiving a CSR certification from a foreign country, making it the first such initiative in India to gain this distinction.
To enhance efficiency and ensure optimal use of resources, the Chief Minister said district-level cells have been set up. “This move will lead to greater transparency in fund distribution and improve the quality of service in charitable hospitals,” he added.
In his introductory address, Rameshwar Naik, Head of the Department, announced the upcoming launch of the 'Rugnamitra' scheme on a constituency-wise basis. Under this initiative, a dedicated online portal will be created to consolidate information related to Central and State Government health schemes, ensuring that such data is accessible in one place with the support of various social organizations.
The event saw participation from a large number of officers and employees across Maharashtra. Notable attendees included:
Dr. Sunil Bhokare, Administrative Officer, Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Project Director
Sharad Ghavate, Co-Head of the Cell
Shekhar Namdas, Deputy Head
Dr. Jagdish Sakwan, Public Relations Officer
Dr. Savanand Sonar, Medical Coordinator
