The much-awaited manifesto (pledge) of the grand alliance for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation was officially released today, Sunday, January 11. The manifesto was announced in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Republican Party of India chief Ramdas Athawale, Mumbai BJP President Amit Satam, and dignitaries from various constituent parties of the grand alliance. As the campaign guns cool down, the grand alliance has presented a large list of promises based on development, redevelopment, and the rights of the Marathi people for Mumbaikars.

The manifesto focuses on key issues such as housing, water, roads, pollution, redevelopment, the Marathi community, and making Mumbai an international standard city. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde highlighted important points from the manifesto, stating that in recent years, the Marathi community in Mumbai has migrated to the suburbs. Concrete steps will be taken to bring them back to Mumbai. A decision has been made to remove obstacles in the redevelopment of SRA, MHADA, cess, and non-cess buildings.

The grand alliance has announced a major decision to suspend the annual 8% increase in water tax for the next five years. Along with this, a promise has been made to make Mumbai pothole-free and pollution-free. “We will not stop at just making announcements, but every promise will be implemented,” Eknath Shinde expressed with firm words of confidence.

The grand alliance has once again emphasized its commitment to making Mumbai an international standard city. Through SRA and cluster development, a planned development of Mumbai will be carried out. Promising to provide rightful homes to mill workers, it has been claimed that homes have been given to 12,000 families so far. Large-scale housing projects will be undertaken in Mumbai and the MMR region.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated at this time that, given the track record of the grand alliance, there is confidence in fulfilling the promises made. He also clarified that an action taken report will be presented to the public after five years. Citing examples like BDD Chawl, Patra Chawl, and the Sahyadri project, he expressed the determination to provide Marathi people with rightful homes in Mumbai. An assurance was also given to provide more space and transparency in the redevelopment of MHADA layouts.
