To create an OBC certificate, you will need to apply at the Setu Center in the Tehsildar's office or on the Aaple Sarkar portal (aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in). For this, documents such as identity proof, address proof, caste certificate of elders, affidavit, and income certificate are required.
Required Documents:
Proof of Identity: Voter ID, PAN card, Driving License, or Passport.
Proof of Address: Ration card, Electricity bill, Passport.
Father's Caste Certificate: Caste certificate held by your father or a family member.
School Leaving Certificate/Bonafide: Applicant's school leaving certificate or bonafide certificate.
Genealogy: Applicant's genealogy (paternal side). Caste proof before 1967: A family member should have caste proof from before 1967.
Affidavit: If necessary, an affidavit must be submitted.
Income Certificate: An income certificate is required.
Application Process:
1. Maharashtra Government's 'Aaple Sarkar' Portal:
You can apply online by visiting aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in.
2. Setu Center: You can also apply by visiting the Setu Center at your nearest Tehsildar office.
It generally takes about 15 days to obtain the certificate.
The fee set by the government for the certificate must be paid, which is usually within 100 rupees.
The OBC certificate provides you with reservation in competitive exams, government jobs, and benefits from government schemes.
