Significant Drop in Gold-Silver Prices; A Golden Opportunity for Buyers

The continuous decline in gold and silver prices over the past few days has persisted today. In the bullion market, the price of gold has fallen by 365 rupees and silver by a substantial 2400 rupees. This has turned out to be great news for those purchasing gold.

Efforts are underway to halt the Russia-Ukraine war through discussions on the international stage. After the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, tensions have eased, and this has had a direct impact on markets worldwide. With tensions subsiding, investors have once again turned to the capital markets, leading to a decrease in investments in gold and silver. As a result, the prices of both metals have dropped.

On August 8th, 24-carat gold reached a peak of 101,406 rupees. Since then, gold has become cheaper by 2,603 rupees. Today, in the bullion market, the price of 24-carat gold has fallen by 365 rupees to 99,168 rupees. Including GST, the price of one tola is 101,767 rupees. 23-carat gold has also decreased by 365 rupees to 98,407 rupees, and with GST, its price is 101,359 rupees. The price of 22-carat gold has dropped by 334 rupees to 90,504 rupees. Including GST, this price is 93,219 rupees. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold has become cheaper by 274 rupees, reaching 74,102 rupees.

However, the price of silver has seen the most significant drop. Silver has decreased by 2,400 rupees, reaching 111,225 rupees per kilogram. Including GST, the price of one kilogram of silver is 114,561 rupees. According to IBJA rates, the price of silver without GST is 113,625 rupees.

In the cities of Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the price of 22-carat gold per tola is 91,800 rupees, while 24-carat gold is 100,150 rupees. In New Delhi and Lucknow, the price of 22-carat gold is 91,950 rupees, and 24-carat gold is 100,300 rupees. In Ahmedabad and Indore, 22-carat gold is 91,850 rupees, and 24-carat gold is 100,200 rupees per tola. In Kolkata, the price of 22-carat gold is 91,800 rupees, and 24-carat gold is recorded at 100,150 rupees.

Meanwhile, over the past year, the price of gold has increased by a total of 23,063 rupees, and silver by 25,208 rupees. On December 31, 2024, the price of one tola of gold was 75,740 rupees, while the price of silver was 86,017 rupees per kilogram. However, with prices falling again, this period is considered a golden opportunity for buyers.
