The sudden demise of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has been a major shock to the state's politics as well as the administration. Especially against the backdrop of the budget, this incident raised many questions. Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has provided important information, clarifying that Ajit Pawar had already completed the in-depth preparation of the 2026-27 budget.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “Ajit Pawar was a man of work. He had started preparations for the budget months in advance. He had done detailed work on studying each department, planning expenses, measures for revenue growth, and schemes providing relief to the common people.” He also noted that Ajit Pawar's budget was going to be development-oriented, focusing on farmers, women, youth, and the middle class.

Fadnavis further said, “Unfortunately, before Dada's budget could be presented, he left us. However, the work he has done, the direction he has given, will not be left incomplete. I will personally complete Ajit Pawar's 'unfinished' budget.” He also expressed confidence that he would fulfill this responsibility with full strength as Chief Minister.

Ajit Pawar's budget focused more on long-term measures rather than direct announcements like loan waivers for farmers. His plan was to make substantial provisions for irrigation projects, agricultural infrastructure, rural employment, as well as the health and education sectors. Additionally, there was a focus on economic empowerment schemes for women and skill development and job creation for the youth.

Chief Minister Fadnavis clarified that all records made by Ajit Pawar, conclusions of departmental meetings, and financial plans are secure. The next process will be carried out based on the same while preparing the budget. “This budget will not just be a game of numbers, but a reflection of Dada's thoughts and his style of work,” Fadnavis also said. The state government will present this budget as a tribute to Ajit Pawar's memories and it will fulfill the expectations of the common people, expressed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
