A meeting of the state government's cabinet was held today (October 28) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Important decisions have been made in this cabinet meeting. In this meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has established a new cell in the ministry to increase foreign investment. Approval for this was also obtained in the cabinet meeting. After the appointment of IFS Rajesh Gawande, this proposal was presented before the cabinet meeting today. Now, the protocol officer in the ministry will have additional responsibilities. Along with protocol, they will also be responsible for foreign direct investment, issues of overseas citizens, and international relations and contacts. This position has been newly approved in the cabinet meeting.
Important decisions taken by the government in today's cabinet meeting
Planning Department- Approval for the Vision Document of Developed Maharashtra-2047. A Developed Maharashtra Vision Management Unit (VMU) will be formed under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister for the implementation of Developed Maharashtra-2047. Opinions and feedback will be sought from the citizens of the state, and the document will be prepared by conducting AI-based analysis. 16 concepts have been determined at the state and district levels. 100 initiatives have been determined under progressive, sustainable, inclusive, and good governance.
Home Department- Approval for the revised cost of the new Solapur-Tuljapur-Osmanabad broad gauge railway line and additional funding as per the state's 50% share.
General Administration Department- Expansion of the Protocol subdivision under the General Administration Department. Approval for the designation expansion to Secretary (Protocol, FDI, Diaspora Affairs and Outreach). Additionally, approval for the creation of three new desks: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), International Outreach, and Diaspora Affairs, and the necessary positions for these desks.
Urban Development Department - A six-month period is granted for candidates elected to reserved seats in general or by-elections for municipal corporations, municipal councils, municipal panchayats, and industrial cities to submit caste validity certificates. Approval for amendments to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act 1888, Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act 1949, and Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Municipal Panchayats, and Industrial Townships Act 1965.
Rural Development Department- A six-month period is granted for candidates elected to reserved seats in general or by-elections for gram panchayats, district councils, and panchayat committees to submit caste validity certificates. Approval to issue Ordinance 2025 for granting time to submit Maharashtra caste validity certificates.
Law and Justice Department- District and Additional Sessions Court and Civil Court Senior Level Court at Shirpur in Dhule district. Additionally, a government prosecutor's office will be established. Approval for necessary positions and budget provisions for both.
Revenue Department- 29.85 hectares of land at Mouje Karda (Tal. Risod) to Suvide Foundation, Risod in Washim district. Approval for renewal of the lease of this land at a nominal rate (one rupee) for the next 30 years.
