Vasant Dada Sugar Institute : An inquiry has been initiated regarding the use of government grants received by the Vasantdada Patil Sugar Institute (VSI). The ministerial committee chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made a decision in this regard, and a special inquiry committee has been formed under the leadership of the Commissioner (Sugar). This committee will investigate whether the grant has been used for its intended purpose and will submit a report to the government.
In the ministerial committee meeting, there was a discussion about the planning for the upcoming sugarcane crushing season. Special attention was focused on the subsidy given to VSI. This fund is given to VSI by reducing one rupee per ton of sugarcane crushed from the sugar factories. However, an inquiry will be conducted to determine whether the use of this fund is appropriate for the purposes of the Vasantdada Patil Sugar Institute.
The inquiry committee has been instructed to submit a report within a specified period. Based on the report, the government will make further decisions. Since Sharad Pawar is the president of the Vasantdada Patil Sugar Institute, the inquiry has sparked various discussions.
