Admissions for diploma and degree courses under the Department of Technical Education in Maharashtra have officially begun. In light of this, students are advised to prepare the necessary documents in advance to ensure a smooth admission process, said Dr. Vinod Mohitkar, Director of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).

The admission process is conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and includes various programs such as:

  • Diploma courses (post-10th)

  • Degree courses like Engineering, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, and Catering Technology (post-12th)

  • Direct Second-Year Admissions in Engineering and Pharmacy

  • Architecture

  • Postgraduate programs such as ME/MTech, MCA, and MBA

Verification Process and Common Issues

Once students complete the online application, they must undergo document verification at designated facilitation centers. However, delays in obtaining required certificates often hinder admissions. To prevent this, the Directorate has issued a circular urging students to gather and prepare their documents ahead of time.

List of Required Documents for Technical Education Admission:

  1. Caste Certificate

  2. Caste Validity Certificate (Mandatory for degree courses)

  3. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (For candidates from Backward Classes)

  4. Domicile Certificate

  5. Income Certificate

  6. EWS Certificate (if applicable)

  7. Disability Certificate (if applicable)

  8. Aadhaar Number

  9. Experience and Non-Exemption Certificate (for working professionals)

It is important to note that the Caste Validity Certificate is not required for professional diploma courses, but is compulsory for degree-level programs. Additional documents are required for candidates applying under special quotas such as Army or Minority quotas.

The Directorate has also issued a stern warning: if reserved category students fail to present their certificates on time, they will be considered under the open (general) category. Furthermore, any candidate found submitting fraudulent documents will face cancellation of admission and criminal proceedings.
