Issue for women whose father/husband is not alive
As the beloved sisters' month of September is approaching, women in the state are delighted. They have received a small amount of money before Diwali. By November, the e-KYC process will also need to be completed. It appears that many women are making great efforts for e-KYC. When the site goes down, they have to wait patiently. It has also come to light that women in hilly areas have to go to higher places for range. Additionally, the new requirement of linking the husband's or father's Aadhaar card while doing e-KYC is proving to be a major obstacle for some women. They fear that they might have to permanently miss out on the beloved sister scheme. There is a demand for the government to provide an immediate solution in this matter.
Verification has been initiated in the state through Anganwadi workers. In this, three or more women from the same household have availed the benefits of this scheme. As a result, 104,000 women will now be deprived of the benefits of this scheme. It has come to light that the allowance of 1500 rupees for these sisters has been immediately stopped. The verification process of 2.6 million suspected beneficiaries is ongoing in the state. It was also revealed that some individuals had exploited this scheme. As the verification process is still ongoing, there is a possibility that more such cases may come to light.
What is e-KYC
To identify bogus beneficiaries and ensure eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the Ladki Bahin scheme, the e-KYC scheme has been launched. There is a separate website for this scheme, ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. Women can complete e-KYC on this site or at the e-Mahaseva center. It has been made mandatory for every beneficiary woman to complete e-KYC. Minister Aditi Tatkare has provided information about this. The government has given a significant deadline for completing e-KYC. Considering the workload on women due to festivals, a two-month period has been given for the KYC process. This process must be completed by November.
Problem of Women Whose Fathers/Husbands Are Deceased
In this scheme, to complete the e-KYC process, it is necessary to provide the Aadhaar card, passport size photo, residence certificate, ration card, voter ID, income certificate, detailed bank account information, and the Aadhaar card number of the husband or father. Only then will the eKYC process be completed. However, women whose fathers/husbands are deceased are facing difficulties. There is a demand for new instructions for them. Otherwise, they fear that their installment may be permanently stopped.
