Against the backdrop of municipal elections, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) MP Sanjay Raut today interacted with the media and presented a candid stance on political developments. He clarified that the decision not to announce the list of candidates from Shiv Sena was made deliberately. “Tomorrow, it will be known who has received the candidature. The practice of announcing lists has now been stopped. Until yesterday evening, those to whom Shiv Sena gave forms have filled them,” said Raut.

They noted that MNS candidates have also filed nominations. In some places, candidates from both MNS and Shiv Sena are in the fray. “The political chaos from Nashik to Sambhajinagar is worth watching,” they criticized. Attacking the BJP strongly, Sanjay Raut said, “The BJP has a line of goons. There is a line for five crores. Today, no one loyal is left.” They also accused the Shinde group and BJP of breaking people by offering financial packages. “Today, loyalty has been washed away in that rain,” they taunted.

Commenting on the so-called rebels in Shiv Sena, Raut said, “They should not be called rebels. The rebellion against the British was a true rebellion. These people are dishonest. If a candidate takes a nomination from another party, he has been in contact with that party for the past ten days.” He also clarified that no special invitation was made to anyone while giving nominations from Matoshree. “Nominations have been given on merit. There are many aspirants in each ward. Therefore, the question of injustice does not arise,” he said.

Regarding the MNS-Shiv Sena alliance, Raut said that this alliance is strong. “Raj Thackeray came to Matoshree yesterday. Detailed discussions have taken place about joint meetings, the meeting at Shivtirth, programs in Nashik-Thane-Dombivli, and the manifesto,” he informed. Criticizing BJP's star campaigners, Raut said, “It wouldn't be surprising if they bring the President for BMC. The Election Commission should live up to its name and control the wolves,” he also warned.
