A major cylinder explosion occurred in a nightclub in Goa. A fierce fire broke out after this explosion. It is currently reported that 23 people have died in the fire. Late Saturday night, a cylinder exploded in a nightclub in North Goa. Due to the cylinder explosion, the nightclub was engulfed in flames. The nightclub was completely burnt down in a short time. The police have confirmed that the cause of the fire was the cylinder explosion.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited the site. Most deaths are reported to be due to suffocation. This incident occurred at 12:04 AM local time in Arpora village. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated in his post that the state government has ordered an investigation into the incident. Videos on social media show lines of ambulances helping the injured.

Police said that fire brigade vehicles and ambulances reached the site as soon as the information about the fire was received. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while officials worked overnight to bring the situation under control. Police said that the fire has been contained and all bodies have been recovered.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “The fire incident in Goa is extremely tragic. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. I spoke to Goa's Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawantji about the situation. The state government is providing all possible assistance to the affected.”
