After the installment for December was credited to the beneficiaries of the beloved sister scheme, women are now eagerly waiting for the January installment. However, before the January installment arrives, millions of women in the state have received a big shock. Because, under this scheme, millions of women did not receive the December installment. Due to the non-deposit of money in the accounts of many women, a sense of dissatisfaction has spread across the state.
The government had made the KYC (Know Your Customer) process mandatory under the scheme. The deadline for completing KYC was December 31, 2025. It was made compulsory to complete KYC before this date. However, the benefits for women who did not complete KYC were directly stopped. The shocking fact is that even after completing KYC, the benefits for as many as 24 lakh women have been stopped.
The main reason these 2.4 million women have not received the December installment is due to errors in the KYC process. Various technical difficulties, misunderstanding of questions, and incorrect information led to many women's KYC being disqualified. According to a report, an important question was asked in the KYC – "Is anyone in your household employed in a government job?" The correct answer to this question was expected to be 'No'. However, many women mistakenly answered 'Yes'. As a result, the concerned women were deemed ineligible for the scheme and their benefits were stopped. Consequently, despite being eligible, millions of women have not received the installment due to errors in KYC.
This situation is causing intense dissatisfaction among women, and complaints are pouring in from many places. Many beneficiary women have approached banks, anganwadi centers, panchayat offices, and the administration. "Even though we are eligible, our benefits have been stopped due to just one wrong answer," is the sentiment expressed by many women.
Meanwhile, taking note of this serious issue, the state government has decided to find a solution. Women whose money is stuck due to KYC will undergo physical verification. Instructions have been given to district collectors to conduct the verification process through Anganwadi workers. Anganwadi workers will visit homes to verify the information of the concerned women and ensure they are truly eligible. The government has expressed confidence that the benefits for eligible women will be resumed.
Meanwhile, the women are also focused on when the January installment will be deposited, and there is hope among the beloved sisters that the government will resolve this process as soon as possible. Since the purpose of this scheme is to provide financial support to women, there is a strong demand from all levels that technical errors and administrative hurdles should not stop eligible women from benefiting.
