In a major relief for homebuyers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the Konkan Board of MHADA has announced the sale of 6,248 affordable houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-Urban). These homes, located in Shirgaon and Khoni in Thane district, will be sold on a 'first come, first served' basis — a golden opportunity for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
The price revision has brought both an increase and a decrease in rates depending on the location. The cost of 5,236 houses in Shirgaon has been increased by ₹1.43 lakh each, bringing the new price to ₹19.28 lakh. On the other hand, 1,012 houses in Khoni have seen a price reduction of ₹1.01 lakh, making them available at ₹19.11 lakh.
This announcement was made by MHADA Vice Chairman and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS).
Chief Officer of the Konkan Board, Revati Gaikwad, urged eligible citizens to take advantage of this scheme, highlighting that there is no deadline, and the sale will continue until all units are booked.
EWS (Economically Weaker Section) – Annual income up to ₹6 lakh
LIG (Lower Income Group) – Annual income between ₹6 lakh and ₹9 lakh
MIG (Middle Income Group) – Annual income between ₹9 lakh and ₹12 lakh
